Join Techmeme in New York City for a screening of CATFISH (that "other Facebook movie")

Posted Wednesday, August 25, 2010 by Gabe Rivera     Permalink

Last week I was invited to an advance screening of CATFISH, an intruiging tale of relationships, truth, and identity in the age of Facebook. Shot in documentary style, and set to release on September 17, the movie made a stir at Sundance, where controversy ensued over exactly how many layers of deception the film encompassed.

I loved it. And Techmeme noted it too.

And now thanks to Universal Pictures, Techmeme readers are invited to two screenings of CATFISH. The first is in San Francisco next Thursday, that's September 2 (Update: This has already taken place, move along to the next paragraph!), at the AMC Metreon at 7pm. Order your free ticket at this link. (Watch the trailer there too.) What's even better is the filmakers, Ariel Schulman, Henry Joost and Nev Schulman, will hold a Q&A immediately after the screening. Yeah, we don't see that too often in San Francisco.

New York-based Techmeme readers can also attend a screening on Wednesday, September 15 at 6PM at Loews Lincoln Square. Free tickets are available here.
