Tackling the Tech Tumbleweed Problem

Alert tech.memeorandum readers will notice posts lingering a little longer than usual (more than a day) on weekends beginning today.

Here's why: lower weekend posting volumes have resulted in a conspicuous drop in the number and weightiness of headlines on tech.memeorandum. In other words, "tumbleweeds have been known to appear". So beginning this weekend, the cycle for retiring old news will slow a bit in order to reduce this effect. As a result, some headlines will remain for more than a day.

While the same tweak is already in effect on WeSmirch, (Political) memeorandum won't change, since the post volume there remains fairly robust 7 days a week.
